What am I doing wrong....
Hi everybody, this is my first post on this site. Another poster told me to drop by, and boy I'm glad I did! I am having this same issue too. I lost all the weight that I lost the first 10 days after surgery. I actually lost a little more than my ticker shows, I've lost about 18lbs. I guess that's not bad for not even a month out, but like I said it was the first 10 days, as soon as I got home from Mexico, and started eating a proper post-op diet...Bam....Nothing, no weight loss. I get plenty of water and about a week ago started to try to bump up my protein, but I'm finding that hard. I think I'm gonna try some more though. I have not gained any, except for when I was constipated, I took care of that and lost 3lbs(I thought that was hilarious),but I havent lost any either in about 2 weeks. Anyway I know what you're going through. To me, it feels like time is going so slow. I know it hasnt been that long but it seems like forever!! Good luck to you all!!
My advice is predictable. DON'T step on the scale for a few days and see how that goes. Once your body recalculates, that scale will move! Good luck.

Also 9-10 pounds in 3 weeks is actually an okay loss for a lightweight. Not spectacular but not crappy either. I think I lost 11 pounds in my first 3 weeks and I got to a normal BMI in 6.5 months.

Give it time and follow the rules. Remember we lightweights will always lose slower than than the rest and it's NOT a RACE. :-)
I'm almost 8 weeks out and have just now lost 20 lbs. since surgery, which means an AVERAGE of 2.5 lbs. per week and which also means I may be able to reach goal within a year after all. That's nothing to sneeze at so I'm happy and grateful for other LW's that said the same things they've been saying to you. LOL
You're where you are suppposed to be... everything is fine... be patient...

don't let a number on the scale determine your mood for the day! work your tool! you'll do great, you'll look great and you'll feel great!!
sending blessings your way today!!
After losing 20 lbs (pre-op diet and immediately post op), I'm only losing about 1/2 pound per week. So disheartening! But I met with my internist, dietician, and trainer on Monday. In short, they agreed that I've gone into that dreaded "starvation mode." I need to 1) stick to high-protein choices (including at least 1 shake per day); 2) up my water intake; and 3 (most important) add weight training to my exercise routine. We'll see how that works out...I've got a Jillian Michaels DVD that I'll slide into the player later today. And I'll let you know how things turn out. Hope you'll do the same.
